1. ADJUDICATORS REQUIREMENTS:
A copy of OWN CHOICE
items must be provided to the Secretary/Convener/Front of House prior to the
session,
clearly marked with SECTION number
and COMPETITOR
number.
2. COMPETITORS:
a)
Competitors must mark their names off at the front desk prior to the
appropriate session.
b) All
sections are OWN CHOICE.
c) All
pieces, except Prose Reading and Sight Reading, are to be performed from
memory.
d) A copy of memorised items, clearly marked with
SECTION number and COMPETITOR
number, must be provided to the
Secretary/Convenor prior to the session.
e) Novice is for competitors who
have never received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in
ANY Speech/Drama section at ANY eisteddfod/festival to date.
f) Competitors entered in Novice
Humorous are NOT eligible for Humorous.
g) Presentations are NOT to
be costumed nor acted, except for DRAMA sections.

Music Regulations
1. ADJUDICATORS REQUIREMENTS
a) A copy of music (for
instrumentalists) / music and words (for vocalists), with the exemption of
sections MS 6, MS 7, M20 V3, M20 V13, M20 V14 and M20 IG7 must be provided to
the Secretary/Convener prior to the session, clearly marked with SECTION number
and COMPETITOR number.
b) Competitors are not permitted
to speak with the adjudicator until after the completion of all his/her
festival performances.
c) The adjudicator provides all
sight reading pieces.
2. CHOIRS
a) Please report to the Choir
Marshall on arrival at the Civic Centre - before entering the Auditorium.
Please conform to NUMBERS as
specified.
b) No
section will be delayed because of the late arrival of ANY choir. Choirs arriving late may perform out of the section for
adjudicators comments ONLY.
c) Choir numbers MUST be adhered to (with a
leeway of 3 persons either side). NB. This leeway does NOT apply to Small Vocal Ensembles/Groups.

3. BANDS
All members of all bands must be
within the age group prescribed.
4. VOCAL
a) Please use accompaniment as specified. Piano only backing CDs
are available from Heather
Martin for a small fee. Phone 02 6672 2008.
b) Microphone may only be used in
Rock/Pop or Jazz groups sections and self accompanied sections.
5. IDENTICAL
PERFORMERS
Identical groups may appear once
in the same section except if they are all performing on different instruments
and/or with different partners.
6. ACCOMPANIMENT
A
section without specification means any accompaniment is acceptable. The use of
an accompaniment is optional but the performance must conform to the style of
the piece.
7. ACCOMPANISTS
Available
accompanist Mrs Beth
Brooks of Murwillumbah. All arrangements re
rehearsals, fees and music must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the Festival.
Fee to be paid directly to the accompanist. A late notification fee
of $20.00 will apply, in addition to accompaniment fee. Phone 02 6672 3294

CD PLAYING
The playing
of CDs in the Music/Vocal sections is permitted provided the CD complies with
the appropriate requirements of the section. If you intend using a copied CD,
please have a back-up disc available. You must provide your OWN operator. (A CD
player will be provided. A tape player will NOT be provided.)
9. PIANO CHAMPIONSHIPS (MCH1, MCH2)
a) Competitors MUST play in at least 1 other corresponding piano section within their age group
b) Competitors must not repeat a piece they have already played in
another section.
10.
INSTRUMENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP (MCH3)
a) Competitors MUST play in at least 1 other corresponding instrumental section within their age group.
b) A competitor must not repeat a piece already played in another
section.
C) Competitors may enter a section more than once ONLY if
performing on a different instrument.
11. DEFINITIONS

15. VENUE
The
Murwillumbah Civic Centre has NO facilities
for rehearsal during competition.
16. PERFORMANCE
ORDER
It is expected that all performers perform in
the order set in the programme. Special requirements are to be made to the
Convenor with Entry Forms. Performers who perform out of order will receive comments
only.
